Date Attended: 19th and 20th February 2024
Event: IBSU Orientation Day
Batch 2 Volunteers run the ZAD ZEAL Limited Information Booth on the 19th - 20th of February 2024, set up at 11 Mile, Institute of Business Studies Campus during their 2 Day Orientation Day Program.
~Monday 19th of February~
Volunteers from Batch 2; Ms. Kirau, Ms. Maima, Ms. Enoch and Mr. Saofe, did an exceptional job for their first day on site working the ZAD ZEAL Limited Information Booth up at the IBS University Campus for the Orientation Day for First Year Students on the 19th and 20th of February 2024.
Without any hesitation, the team took up the job enthusiastically, interacting with students, parents and staff up at the campus. The team managed to gather a few names registered down for the Volunteer Batch 4 Program, were able to hand out a couple of business cards and business and service brochures through a number of interactions.
~Tuesday 20th of February~
On the 20th of February, although interaction with students and staff were a bit slow, the volunteer managed to collect a few more names for the Volunteer Program.
Throughout the two days, the team felt as though this was a positive way to initially commence their journey with the Volunteer Program as they had directly engaged with interested people. As most interactions were made with people around the same age, it made for an easy first experience, thus boosting confidence when dealing with a more elder crowd.
This experience could be improved by banners and brochures around school setting in regard to the Volunteer Program, this could bring increased attention from students when approaching the booth for more information, this is where we can also market services offered by ZAD ZEAL Limited to them.
Overall, the two-day program was a good way for us to start our volunteer program as we were asked questions we would deal with when interacting with customers. It also helped that most of the people we interacted with were around our age group so it made the first experience a bit easy and helped us gain confidence we would need when dealing with older people.
Something we could work on may include putting up brochures of our volunteer program when we are in school settings so we get more attention from students and when they come to our booth for more information, we can also market or advertise our services to them.
